Those ballet shoes are going to make working the rudder pedals difficult.

"Tiny Dancer" is her chosen pilot nickname.

Dave,

The helo flight instructers at the Army Aviation School in Ft. Rucker Alabama are currently weighing a uniform change initiative that includes ballet shoes as being a suitable subsititute for the standard boot during non-combat flight. They cited the fact that the pilots of Marine One are changing into them already once the hatch is secure prior and they are out of sight of the press corp.

There was a motion to include ballet shoes for combat missions as well, but too many thought that it would offend Muslim sensabilites if our helo jocks were seen conducting operations in Iraq with them on.
