"After the 5th Symphony premiered, no one asked Ludwig to send a resume and audition tape..."

Michael Yon speaking more truth here. It's a long dispatch, but definately worth the read.

"True, I am anti-war, but I recognize that at this juncture in human history that refusing to fight in many parts of the world means that we agree to be beaten to death, or we agree to allow airliners to ram into our buildings. War is a pitiful human reality that we must face, and we are far from finished with facing this demon. We live in a rough world where strength is rewarded, weakness is penalized."

"... If we leave, all vestiges of progress will be lost and those Iraqis who risked their lives to work with us to gain that progress will no longer trust Americans. If we run, the enemy will follow us. They will kill us. They will not stop until we stop them. I might be anti-war, but I am much more anti-terrorist."

I disagree. I think creating harmonious relationship with other cultures instaed of forcing them to do our bidding, on our terms would create an enviroment where people would'nt want to fly planes into buildings.

As far as Iraqui's no longer trusting us - when have they ever?

It'd be great if there was any kind of willingness on thier part to create "harmonious relationships", but that's not at all the reality. We could exhaust every bit of our time, energy, and money attempting to do just what you suggest and they'd still fly planes into out buildings. Ironic thing is is that they hate you for your beliefs and conceptions about them as much as they do about mine. They simply exploit your nature more to their deadly advantage.

Anyway, you should really take the time to read the dispatch. The guys good. You'd enjoy it. I garanttee it's not at all what you think.

We'll never know until we try. We've never treated the arab world as anything other than ancillary or antagonistic. Never have we given tham any respect - we gave Palestine away when it wasn't ours to do so - again and again throughout the past 100 years we never even bothered to include them in any descision making process regarding THEIR region.

You reap what you sow. We are now reaping big time.
